Emergency Generator
The City has a well at Loutsis Park that serves as a backup water supply. The well has historically only been activated during peak usage periods to replenish low reservoir levels, or to provide adequate pressure and flow during fire flow situations. A backup power generator is being installed at the well site to allow the well pump be used in the event of an electrical power outage to provide water service and the required fire flow storage to the city’s E. Entwistle reservoirs during peak conditions or if water transmission from the Spring Sources is compromised.
The project cost is $71,514 and is funded by water GFCs and the water capital surcharge revenue from the City's 402 Water Capital Improvement Fund.
The City awarded a contract for construction of the project to Larry Brown Construction on October 5, 2021.
The project is expected to complete construction by May 2022.
